The 5th Quarter LIVE precinct in the Southern Plaza will come alive with music, fire twirlers, roving entertainment and plenty of activities, competitions and prizes for fans of all ages. Meet up with friends for a drink and a bite to eat at the 5th Quarter Bar and there will be bean bags galore on the grass where you can chill out watching all the pre-game SUNS TV action on the videoboard.
The SUNS Shop and outlets around the stadium will have all the official 2012 GC SUNS merchandise you need to make sure you’re decked out in red!
The kids can catch up with Sunny Ray, get their faces painted in SUNS colours and test their skills in the Radiant AFL Playground while young and old alike can get involved in kick to kick on the training field.
The members only ‘Light Tower Bar’ has been revamped! The new-look bar features more furniture, a mobile draught bar to help speed up beer service and exclusive appearances by Gold Coast SUNS players.
Members will be required to show their membership card for entry (members must be over 18 and entry is subject to capacity).

Important Information
Getting to and from the game
There is no public parking available at Metricon Stadium and parking restrictions will be enforced around the roads surrounding the stadium.
A limited number of PWD parking spaces are available at Metricon Stadium, however these must be booked in advance through Metricon Stadium Management at info@metriconstadium.com.au or 07 5644 6200 (9am-5pm Mon-Fri).
Please note that Alabaster Drive will be closed to north bound traffic from approximately 5.00pm on Saturday 14 April 2012 or when deemed necessary by Traffic Controllers and Police, for the purpose of pedestrian safety. Persons in possession of the appropriate car parking permit wishing to access the Blue Car Park from this time must do so from Nerang-Broadbeach Road rather than Plateau Crescent.
FREE Game Day Public Transport and Park 'n' Ride options with TransLink
Passengers in possession of a Gold Coast SUNS event ticket (2012 Membership cards are valid event tickets) can travel free with TransLink to and from the event on scheduled Surfside bus and Queensland Rail train services (conditions apply).
Please note that you must be in possession of your valid event ticket prior to travelling on TransLink services in order to gain free access to public transport.

Details: This event has been declared a reserved seat event, where a reserved seat ticket will be required for entry. Silver Unreserved members will be required to upgrade their entry to a reserved seat for this match at the designated upgrade fee (stated below).

Details: A valid ticket for the Gold Coast SUNS v Essendon game is required to gain entry to the curtain raiser game. Entry to ticket holders is only permitted through Gate 1 from 3.20pm onwards. Patrons with a disability that arrive in the Yellow Car Park and are unable to make their way to Gate 1 for entry are to make themselves known to security at Gate 4 Service Entry who will request assistance by Stadium Management.

CAR
Please note that there will be no public parking available at Metricon Stadium for Toyota AFL Premiership Season matches in 2012 and parking restrictions will be enforced in the areas surrounding Metricon Stadium. Valid parking permits are required to access Metricon Stadium’s car parks, without these permits vehicles will be refused entry. Permits are not available for purchase by the public.
All permit holders are advised to refer to stadium precinct map for specific location of Metricon Stadium car parks or on the reverse side of their parking permit.
A limited number of PWD (persons with a disability) parking spaces are available at Metricon Stadium, however these must be booked in advance through Metricon Stadium Management on (07) 5644 6200 or info@metriconstadium.com.au between 8:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
There will be no parking on roadways within the designated Traffic Management Area on event days and any vehicles not abiding by these restrictions can and will be towed away. Please refer to the Traffic Management Area Map by clicking here for details of these restrictions.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Free Transport with TransLink
Passengers in possession of a valid event ticket will travel free with TransLink to and from the event on scheduled Surfside bus and Queensland Rail train services (conditions apply).
Please note that you must be in possession of your valid event ticket prior to travelling on TransLink services in order to gain free access to public transport. If you have selected the venue collection option you can pick your tickets up before the event day from any Ticketmaster agency. Event tickets purchased at the Metricon Stadium box office on event days are only valid for free post-event travel on Surfside and Queensland Rail services.
Boowaggan Road Park ‘n’ Ride (Cnr of Boowaggan Road & Robina Parkway, Merrimac)
Metricon Stadium offers patrons a Park ‘n’ Ride facility on Boowaggan Road, Merrimac. The car park opens at approximately 1.00pm and will close approximately 1 hour after the final siren. There is limited parking available at Boowaggan Road Park ‘n’ Ride.

Train
Patrons in possession of a valid ticket can catch regular Queensland Rail train services from any station on the Gold Coast line to Nerang station then board a free event shuttle bus to Metricon Stadium from the eastern side of Nerang station or walk to the stadium (approx. 2.4kms). Please note that you can park at other Queensland Rail stations (Helensvale, Coomera, Beenleigh etc.) and catch the train to Nerang. Return shuttle buses will operate from Metricon Stadium back to Nerang station for 1 hour after the final siren.

Bus
Patrons in possession of a valid event ticket can catch any regular Surfside bus service to Victoria Park, Broadbeach for free and then board a free event shuttle bus to Metricon Stadium.

Return Transport Options
Return event shuttle buses run from Metricon Stadium to the following locations:

• Victoria Park, Broadbeach
• Boowaggan Road Park ‘n’ Ride
• Surfers Paradise (terminating at Cavil Ave)

All return services commence at the Final Siren and run for 1 hour.

Drop Off & Pick Up
A drop-off & pick up point is located on the eastern side of Birmingham Road outside Emmanuel College which is approximately a 900m walk to Metricon Stadium.
Boowaggan Road Park ‘n’ Ride, Victoria Park and Nerang Station are also drop off & pick up locations. Patrons in possession of a valid event ticket can then board one of the free event shuttle buses to and from Metricon Stadium.
Coach & Mini Bus Parking
A limited number of coach parking spaces are available in the Blue Car Park at Metricon Stadium for $25.00 per vehicle, however these must be booked in advance through Metricon Stadium Management. Please contact Metricon Stadium Management on (07) 5644 6200 or email info@metriconstadium.com.au between 8.30am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday to book coach parking in the Blue Car Park.
Mini-Bus Drop Off/Pick Up
Mini-bus drop-off/pick up is located on the eastern side of Birmingham Road outside Emmanuel College which is approximately a 900m walk to Metricon Stadium.
Please note that the Metricon Stadium Bus Hub is for TransLink event shuttle buses only.
Taxi
For major events a designated taxi rank will operate in the Blue Car Park opposite Metricon Stadium (on Nerang-Broadbeach Road). Taxis will be permitted to drop off and pick up passengers at this location only.
Limousines
Hire vehicles (limousines) holding an L or HC Licence Plate are permitted to drop off & pick up at Metricon Stadium in the Red Car Park outside Gate 5.
All other forms of hire transport are to use the Birmingham Rd Drop-Off & Pick Up point. Limousines who intend to re-enter the car park to collect their guests at the end of the event are required to collect a limousine re-entry pass on exit from the Red Car Park.
Private Parking Operators
There are a number of private operators that offer paid car parking in close proximity to the stadium. These parking options are privately run and are not associated with Metricon Stadium. Please note these parking options may vary at any time at the discretion of the car park operator.
